For example — a 2013 study shows that vitamin C can be used in treating hyperpigmentation to decrease melanin formation. Some say that since beets contain vitamin C, they can be used for this condition.

Besides lightening skin, beetroot juice can do also other betterment for skin.

You know that beetroot has already earned fame as one of the best superfoods. It is, of course, a good vegetable that can be eaten as a baked, boiled, or salad item. Or you can just juice it up but don’t remove the pulp as it is all about fiber. 4. Brightens dark lips

Lips become chapped, dry, cracked and dark due to moisture loss. Beetroot is a good solution to remove dead skin cells and dark spots from lips. Beetroot juice adds a nice rosy tint and smoothness to the lips leaving them soft, supple, and more kissable.

How to use beetroot juice for lip lightening: Mix some grated beetroot with some brown sugar. Scrub the lips with this mixture for one minute. It will get rid of dark spots due to smoking, sunburn, tea, coffee, lipstick stain, etc. And the lips will be pink and sexy. Don’t exfoliate lips more than twice a week.
